ELEC 160 Semiconductor Devices I* (3 Hours)
Prerequisites : ELEC 120 with a grade of "C" or higher and ELEC 134 with a grade of "C" or higher and MATH 130 with a grade of "C" or higher.
Corequisites: ELEC 234 and MATH 131.
This course is the first of a two-course sequence that introduces students to solid-state technology. Course topics include semiconductor materials, diodes, diode applications, and bipolar junction transistors (BJTs). Students learn to analyze and troubleshoot power supply, regulation, switching, and small-signal BJT amplifier circuits. 2 hrs. lecture, 3 hrs. lab/week.
