The information below is a guide for students planning to take courses at JCCC that will apply toward the Integrated Computer Science B.A./B.S. degree at K-State.

Integrated Computer Science integrates computer science with domain knowledge in some external area of concentration. The degree combines a student-selected concentration from any field of study outside of computer science with a computational core focused on real-world programming skills, electives expanding those skills and providing additional cultural and ethical knowledge, and a capstone project applying those skills to the concentration area. Integrated Computer Science equips students to apply computational thinking and methods in a wide variety of possible careers and to become academic, cultural, and industrial leaders who integrate the breadth and depth of an arts and sciences education with technical expertise in computer science.

  • The Integrated Computer Science, B.A./B.S. requires 120 semester credit hours. No more than seventy-five hours may be transferred as credit from a community college.
  • Each student must complete at least 30 K-State resident credits to be considered for a degree from K-State.
  • A minimum of 45 hours must be at a course level of 300 or higher.
  • Of the last 30 credit hours earned (300 or higher) at least 15 credits must be completed at K-State."
  • Letter grades are required. Courses with “pass” or “credit” in lieu of letter grade can apply only as unrestricted electives.
  • Visit the KSU catalog for course descriptions and prerequisites.
  • Students transferring to KSU, that complete the General Education requirements required for the Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Fine Arts (AFA) or Associate of Science (AS) degree from JCCC will be considered to have satisfied KSU’s core general education curriculum.
  • Students who transfer to KSU, without completing the General Education requirements required for the Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Fine Arts (AFA) or Associate of Science (AS) degree will have courses evaluated on a course-by-course basis toward meeting KSU requirements. To learn more about courses that satisfy KSU Core Requirements and KSU Transfer Equivalency Tool.
  • Visit the KSU Core General Education Guide for JCCC equivalents.
