Program Description
The AAS in Interior Design at JCCC transfers to the University of Nebraska – Kearney (UNK) Interior and Product Design, BS program. UNK accepts a maximum of 66 hours from all two-year schools with a “C” grade or better. Please note the total program hours for the AAS is 68 credit hours. A minimum total of 120 semester credit hours must be earned, of which 40 credit hours must be in 300 or 400 (Junior/Senior) level courses. A minimum of 32 semester credit hours applicable to the selected degree program must be earned through UNK. A cumulative grade point average of 2.0 is required to complete the BS degree. The Interior and Product Design, BS program is not offered online.
Admission Requirements
Transfer Student Admission Requirements:
- Students must report all institutions where previously enrolled regardless of whether or not courses were completed/credit was earned.
- Good academic standing at all prior institutions. If academic suspension is currently in effect admission to UNK is not possible.
- Students on academic probation at a former institution are eligible for admission to UNK.
- Good financial standing. Any outstanding balance at a prior school will not allow for admission to UNK.
- Active student loans are not the same as having an outstanding balance. Student loans do not disqualify students from being eligible for admission.
- Cumulative 2.0 (C average) transfer GPA.
- Students who have attended multiple institutions will have all GPAs combined and averaged.
Transfer Student Admission Procedure:
Applications should be submitted no later than four (4) weeks prior to the term being applied for. Submit Applications online.
- Select the undergraduate transfer application, appropriately indicating resident or nonresident.
- Select the term you intend to start at UNK. Applications are specific to the term indicated:
- Fall (August) – Spring (January) – Summer (May)
- Pay the $45 application fee

- Request all prior transcripts be sent to UNK
