Nursing, AAS to Nursing, BSN - Community College Nursing Partnership Program soninfo@kumc.edu
Academic Year 2026-2027 http://nursing.kumc.edu/

Program Description

The JCCC/KU Nursing Partnership is a streamlined, time-efficient pathway that allows students to complete JCCC nursing courses on campus while taking KU BSN coursework simultaneously online. Students are eligible to enter the partnership at any point during the Registered Nurse (Associate Degree Nurse), AAS in Nursing program, or begin both programs concurrently to graduate with both JCCC’s AAS in nursing and KU’s BSN degrees in the same semester.

Admission Requirements

  • Admission Requirements: Applicant must be admitted to JCCC’s AAS in Nursing program and complete 59 credit hours of community college specific prerequisite credit hours (listed below) with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.50, a professional resume, and three letters of reference in addition to the online application.
  • Application Deadline: Students may begin the BSN at any point during JCCC's AAS in nursing. To have an application considered for admission, all parts of the application (including transcripts and references) must be submitted through the KU Medical Center online application site by July 1 for fall semester and December 1 for spring semester.  Admission decisions are made as applications are received. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply early.
  • GPA Calculation: When calculating GPA, all transferable courses from all colleges and universities attended are considered. Except for Intermediate Algebra, remedial courses are not factored into the GPA. When a course is repeated, both the original and the new grade are factored into the GPA. Nursing courses in the AAS curriculum are factored into the GPA.
  • Pass/Fail Policy: No Pass/Fail courses will be accepted. Courses with grades of “D” or “F” will not be counted towards the degree.

It is the STUDENT’S RESPONSIBILITY to check for updates to all transfer information. This transfer guide is provided as a service and is updated as needed. Degree requirements at the four-year colleges are subject to change by those institutions. To ensure you have the most accurate information about the program, you must meet with an advisor at the transfer institution.
