Program Requirements

Transfer applicants must have at least 24 credits of transferable college credit, an overall 2.25 GPA on a 4.0 scale in all coursework, which includes repeated coursework, attempted at previous institutions. Transfer applicants with a GPA between a 2.0 and 2.249 must submit a petition for admission. Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Architecture program must earn a minimum grade of “C” in all Design Studio coursework. All JCCC courses listed in the articulation agreement must be completed by end of the Spring term prior to attending UMKC. General UMKC Transfer Admission Requirements 

  • 2.25 or higher cumulative GPA

* Credit/no credit may only be applied to elective coursework and will not apply towards UMKC’s general education core or major requirements. (UMKC did allow Credit/No-credit or Pass/Fail for Spring 2020 coursework. Please see the specific program for transfer guidelines.)

  • Equivalent courses can be repeated but all grades will be averaged for GPA calculation purposes and students will only receive credit for one attempt

Studios: Student who are transferring to UMKC Architecture must take these studios together in the same semester to align for equivalent studio credit. Please note: These courses do not guarantee Admission to Architecture School which is based on successful completion of all required courses, cumulative grade point average (GPA) and faculty review of a digital portfolio of work completed in JCCC studios.
