Program DescriptionThe Associate of Arts, AA at JCCC is a general transfer degree and partners well with the first two years of most bachelor degree programs. Students pursuing the AA may select courses that satisfy both the AA degree requirements and lower division requirements for a bachelor’s degree at four-year institutions. The elective hours within the AA allow students to complete additional general education and lower division courses required for specific majors. The AA degree requires completion of 60 credit hours. Meeting with a JCCC counselor is strongly recommended for selection of appropriate courses. The Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Business, also requires that students must choose one area of emphasis: Economics, Finance, Management, Marketing and Sports Management at William Jewell College. A minimum of 124 credit hours are required for the BS in Business at William Jewell College. The maximum amount of credit toward the 124 credit hours required for the BS degree that a student may apply in one subject matter field is 60 hours and a student must have 64 hours outside the one subject matter field that can be counted toward graduation. The William Jewell College residency requirement is 45 hours, the last 30 hours must be taken at William Jewell College and 16 hours (with a grade of “C-“ or better) in any major. Please note: the major in Business with an emphasis in Management at William Jewell College has a fully online option for approved transfer students who have completed an associate degree, who have been admitted specifically for the online program and who have completed work previously that can be used to meet certain requirements of the major and of the core curriculum. To be considered for admission, student must present a cumulative GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) for all college-level coursework completed at any/all properly accredited post-secondary institutions. | |
