The Associate of Arts, AA at JCCC is a general transfer degree and partners well with the first two years of most bachelor degree programs. Students pursuing the AA may select courses that satisfy both the AA degree requirements and lower division requirements for a bachelor’s degree at four-year institutions. The elective hours within the AA allow students to complete additional general education and lower division courses required for specific majors. The AA degree requires completion of 60 credit hours. Meeting with a JCCC counselor is strongly recommended for selection of appropriate courses.

The B.S. in Hospitality Management program offered by the College of Health and Human Services is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration. The mission of the program is to prepare students for professional careers in hospitality management by providing theory-based instruction and practical experience. Students can complete a business minor concurrently with the B.S. in Hospitality Management.

  • The B.S. in Hospitality Management requires 120 semester credit hours.
  • No more than seventy-five hours may be transferred as credit from a community college.
  • Each student must complete at least 30 K-State resident credits to be considered for a degree from K-State.
  • A minimum of 45 hours must be at a course level of 300 or above.
  • Students must complete 20 of the last 30 hours of resident credit at K-State.
  • Letter grades are required. Courses with “pass” or “credit” apply only as unrestricted electives.
  • Grades of “C” or higher are required in all “Professional Studies” courses.
  • Students transferring to KSU, that complete the General Education requirements required for the Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Fine Arts (AFA) or Associate of Science (AS) degree from JCCC will be considered to have satisfied KSU’s core general education curriculum.
  • Students who transfer to KSU, without completing the General Education requirements required for the Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Fine Arts (AFA) or Associate of Science (AS) degree will have courses evaluated on a course-by-course basis toward meeting KSU requirements. To learn more about courses that satisfy KSU Core Requirements and KSU Transfer Equivalency Tool.
