Transfer Admission Procedures/Qualifications Application: - Application can be completed online at www.ccis.edu
- No application fee
- Request official transcripts from all previous regionally accredited colleges and universities to be mailed to Columbia College, Attn: Office of the Registrar, 1001 Rogers Street, Columbia, MO 65216 or sent electronically to evaltrans@ccis.edu
- Students may apply at any time. Terms begin in January, March, April, June, August, and October. We offer evening, synchronous virtual and asynchronous online classes.
Precursory Review: First time applicants are eligible for this review. This is a free, one-time service. Once an application is submitted, send any and all transcripts to evaluations@ccis.edu and request a “precursory review” within the body of the email. Be sure to also list the desired degree program. The Columbia College Registrar Office will review the transcripts and let the student know how many credits will transfer towards their desired degree program before being admitted to Columbia College and meeting with an academic advisor. Readmit Students: - Any student who has been accepted to Columbia College, has earned credits, and has stopped out for one year or more must apply for readmission. A student must be in good academic and financial standing with Columbia College. Coursework taken while the student was away from Columbia College must meet the transfer qualifications below.
Transfer Qualifications: - Transcripts must be received by Columbia College in a sealed envelope or sent electronically in order to be considered official. Electronic transcripts can be sent to evaltrans@ccis.edu.
- Courses with a grade of A, B or C will transfer as credit; courses with a grade of D, F or W will not be considered.
ACT/SAT Scores: - Students with more than twenty-four post-high school (excludes high school dual enrollment/dual credit), earned college credits are considered transfer applicants. Test scores are not required for transfer admission, but may be used in certain cases for course placement.
Tuition/Fees/Expenses Tuition: Undergraduate In-Seat or Online $375 per credit hour Books: Books are provided for each course at no additional cost. Fees: There are no additional fees. Financial Aid/Scholarships Application Deadline: Students may apply for Financial Aid in the form of loans at any time of the year. For Pell Grants (need-based) the preferred deadline is March 1. Other grants may be available if the student is a dependent. Special Requirements: - Columbia College’s FAFSA code is #002456.
Scholarship and Grant Opportunities: Benefits for Veterans, Military Personnel and Spouses: - Columbia College fully complies with Executive Order 13607 establishing Principles of Excellence for Educational Institutions Serving Service Members, Veterans, Spouses and Other Family Members.
- Accepts Veterans’ GI Bill benefits and Military Tuition Assistance for active duty servicemembers, as well as offering generous scholarships for veterans, military spouses and veterans.
- Beginning fall of 2021, spouses and dependents of currently serving military members and Columbia College-affiliated military installation employees get the same military tuition rates
- Columbia College awards credit for military training and experience based on American Council on Education (ACE) credit recommendations. Acceptable military transcripts include CCAF and JST (formerly AARTS, SMART, and CGI).
General Academic Information - Each bachelor’s degree requires a minimum of 120 credit hours and a minimum 2.0 of 4.0 GPA.
- The AA and AS degrees meet all Columbia College general education requirements.
- Various Degree Program Guides can be found on Columbia College’s Transfer Equivalency Portal. These are updated each academic year and are often helpful for students and advisors when degree planning.
- For a baccalaureate degree, students are required to complete 30 semester hours of coursework with Columbia College. To fulfill Columbia College’s upper level (300 or 400 level courses) requirement, students must complete at least 39 hours of upper-level credit for their baccalaureate to be conferred.
- Standardized tests (CLEP, DANTES, etc.) and military training credit may also be accepted.
