Program Requirements
The Associate of Arts, AA or Associate of Science, AS at JCCC is a general transfer degree and partners well with the first two years of most bachelor degree programs. Students pursuing the AA or AS may select courses that satisfy both the AA or AS degree requirements and lower division requirements for a bachelor’s degree at four-year institutions. The elective hours within the AA or AS allow students to complete additional general education and lower division courses required for specific majors. The AA or AS degree requires completion of 60 credit hours. Meeting with a JCCC counselor is strongly recommended for selection of appropriate courses.
- The JCCC Connection with USM allows the maximum number of hours from JCCC that will be applied toward a bachelor’s degree at USM is 90 credits AND Lower-division gen ed requirements waived for students with a completed AA or AS degree. Note: The three (3) hours of Theology are still required at USM.
- Please note: The University of Saint Mary is not participating in the Kansas (KBOR) Systemwide General Education framework.
- Prior associate’s degree: Students who earned an associate of arts or associate of science degree from an accredited institution are required to complete 3 credit hours of Theology, and any missing prerequisites required for the major. Students who earned an associate of applied science degree are required to complete all of the general education curriculum.
