Program Description

  • Students in the AAS in Apparel Design and Technology program can transfer 67 credit hours of coursework to the B.A. in Apparel Studies program to Stephens College.  
  • The Bachelor of Arts major in Apparel Studies degree requires the completion of the 36 hours in general education program and 32 semester hours in FAS and BUS, plus 10-13 semester hours of required electives for a total of 42-45 hours in the major, as well as the completion of (1) the industry-specific internship, and (2) the senior FAS capstone/seminar coursework. 
  • The BA includes at least 24 semester hours of specified credit, of which at least 15 semester hours must be at or above the 300 levelThe last 15 semester hours must be earned through Stephens College. 
  • Students must earn a C- or better in all required courses within the B.A. in Apparel Studies program. Students may not continue to the next level class until the prerequisite class is passed with a C- or better.  
  • An overall G.P.A. of at least 2.0 in all major courses is required. 

Admission Requirements

  • Submit Online Application for review 
  • Submit official transcript(s) from previously attended institutions.  
  • Electronic transcripts may be submitted through various electronic transcript services and can also be sent to Stephens College directly from the institution. Transcripts received from a student will not be considered official.
  • Paper transcripts must be mailed directly to Stephens College by your school(s). Have your official transcript(s) mailed to: Stephens College Office of Admissions, Campus Box 2121, 1200 E. Broadway, Columbia, MO 65215
