TRANSFER ADMISSION PROCEDURES/QUALIFICATIONS Application: - Online applications may be found at www.k-state.edu/admissions/transfer.
- $40 nonrefundable application fee must be mailed, or credit card, debit card or electronic check payment is available for students applying electronically.
- Request official transcripts from all previous colleges or universities be sent directly to the K-State Office of Admissions by electronic transcript service to k-state@k-state.edu or mail to 119 Anderson Hall, Manhattan, KS 66506
- Application deadline: Rolling; may be admitted up to 15 months before attendance.
- Engineering, Architecture, and Interior Design applications must be received and processed by February 1 (or December 1 for spring start students applying to Engineering).
International Students: Readmit Students: - Any undergraduate student who has previously been admitted and attended K-State needs to reapply and be readmitted using the application for admission.
- Includes students who have not been enrolled for one or more semesters at K-State, been dismissed from the university one or more semesters, excluding summer, or graduates returning to continue further undergraduate work. Previously dismissed students must follow reinstatement procedures after filing for readmission.
- Readmission application fee: None.
Transfer Qualifications: - Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale for admission to the University. All courses on college transcripts will be included in the admission GPA calculation.
- The following programs of study require higher GPAs: College of Architecture, Planning and Design, Carl R. Ice College of Engineering, College of Business, Interior Design, Psychology, and all health-related professions. For specific program requirements, see the K-State catalog or transfer guides for those programs.
- Transfer applicants who have earned less than 24 hours of transfer credit by the time they attend K-State must also submit an official high school transcript showing graduation date and ACT/SAT if applicant is less than 21 at the time of applying and their high school GPA is less than 3.25.
ACT/SAT Scores: - Not required for admission to the University for transfer students with 24 or more transferable credit hours. If applicant’s age is 21 or older, ACT/SAT may not be required. Some programs may require these test scores for advising purposes.
Qualified Admissions: - Transfer students whose high school graduation date was May 2001 or later, with fewer than 24 transferable credit hours, must meet the conditions for high school graduates as shown in the K-State catalog and achieve a cumulative college GPA of 2.0. If applicant’s age is 21 or older, ACT/SAT may not be required, depending on the state where high school graduation occurred.
Transcript Evaluations: - Official evaluation is part of the admission procedure. Course equivalency information may be accessed at www.k-state.edu/transfer-credit. Once a student is admitted, a Degree Audit may be accessed. A student or advisor can access a Transfer Pathway for many programs. This will list most common possibilities of course requirements by academic major. Ask K-State Transfer Coordinator for details! Use www.k-state.edu/transfer.
Early Registration/ Campus Visits: - Admitted transfer students are invited to a special early orientation and enrollment program for Fall in April or in June. Early enrollment and orientation for Spring students is in November. Campus visits are available upon request. Special transfer visit days are scheduled in the fall and spring each year.

Scholarship Application: Admissions application, application fee, scholarship application and up-to-date transcripts (including grades from previous term/semester) from all institutions attended must be sent to KState by December 1 for students starting in the spring and February 1 for summer-or-fall-starting students. Apply at k-state.edu/admissions. Transfer Scholarships: Transfer Impact Award $6,000 renewable six-semester scholarship. Student must be transferring with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA. $2,000 for year one, renewable for up to two additional years (three years, six semesters total) with a 3.0 K-State GPA. Transfer 1863 Landmark Award $3,000 renewable six-semester scholarship. Student must be transferring with a 3.0-3.49 cumulative GPA. $1,000 for year one, renewable for up to two additional years (three years, six semesters total) with a 3.0 K-State GPA. Phi Theta Kappa Scholarships: Additional scholarships for Phi Theta Kappa members: One-time non-renewable award $500.00 for students transferring directly from community colleges, has a 3.5 GPA, and was active member of PTK the semester prior to attending K-State. Other Financial Opportunities: K-State Land Grant Promise: The K-State Land Grant Promise assures that full-time, Pelleligible undergraduates with total household income of $70,000 or less will receive a total grant and/or scholarship aid package up to the equivalent cost of 15 credit hours of tuition per fall and spring semester (up to 30 credit hour value for the academic year). - Application of transfer credit toward degree requirements is determined by each college and major department.
GPA Calculation: - Calculation of GPA for the bachelor’s degree includes only grades from those courses taken at K-State.
- The JCCC GPA will be considered for admission to certain programs and for transfer scholarship consideration.
Pass/Fail: - Each department or division may specify which courses its majors may take under the pass/fail option. Students should be aware that some schools, scholarship committees and honorary societies do not view nongraded course work favorably.

Retake Policy: - Only the first repetition of a course replaces the original grade in the grade point average computation.
- Students wishing to retake a course originally taken at K-State must re-enroll and complete the same course at K-State.
“D” Grades: - A grade of “D” will transfer to the University; however, these courses may need to be retaken, depending on the major entered.
Time Limit on Credit: - No time limit on age of credit earned.
