Transfer Admissions/ Procedures/ Qualifications

  • Submit application for Admission.
    • Must be in good standing at your current college or university. 
    • Must have at least a 2.00 GPA. 
    • After acceptance, the NWU Registrar will determine how your credits will transfer.

  • Explore our comprehensive Transfer Course Equivalencies List to see how courses from Johnson County Community College and other institutions will transfer to meet Nebraska Wesleyan course requirements. This list is not exhaustive; if you do not see specific courses listed, please contact admissions with transfer questions by email, and one of our transfer admissions counselors will be happy to assist you. 
  • Credits from regionally accredited institutions, with grades of "C-" or above, may transfer to Nebraska Wesleyan. 
  • To transfer credits to Nebraska Wesleyan University, students are responsible for requesting an official copy of college transcripts to be sent directly to Nebraska Wesleyan University. Official transcripts can be sent via an approved electronic service by the sending college/university, such as the National Student Clearinghouse or Parchment. Alternatively, official transcripts can be mailed to Nebraska Wesleyan University, Registrar's Office, 5000 St Paul Ave, Lincoln, NE 68504. Transcripts that are hand-carried, faxed, emailed, or marked "issued to student" are not accepted as official and cannot be utilized to evaluate or issue transfer credit. 
  • Current NWU Students will receive a "Transfer Credits Posted" confirmation message via NWU student email approximately 7-10 business days after receipt of an official transcript for transfer credit. Prospective NWU Students should work with their designated Admissions Counselor to navigate the transfer process. 
  • NWU accepts Advanced Placement Exams and CLEP Exams; visit transfer college credit for required test scores and equivalent courses.

  • Undergraduate Costs - Undergraduate tuition is billed by the semester; scholarships will reduce this tuition cost. The following example shows estimated annual costs. Each student’s exact costs will vary. Estimates based on full-time attendance (12 – 18 credit hours per semester)

    Scholarships for Transfer Students: Receive one of the following: 

    • $29,000 Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Scholarship - Any PTK transfer student receives this automatic, renewable scholarship.
    • Transfer Scholarship Package of $29,000 - Students who transfer from an out-of-state college automatically qualify. 
    • Full Tuition NWU Access Scholarship – Pay $0 in Tuition! - Students who complete the FAFSA and are eligible for a Federal Pell Grant qualify for this renewable full-tuition award. 
    • $1000 Campus Visit Grant – All Students Eligible - If a student visits NWU's campus in-person, they will receive a renewable campus visit grant.
