Transfer Admission Procedure/Qualifications

Application: 

  • Fill out our online application and tell us more about you.
  • Visit the Stephens College Application Portal for more information.
  • There is no application fee, and your application will be automatically reviewed for transfer scholarship eligibility.
  • Stephens uses a rolling admissions process, which means it is never too early or late to apply. We also look at deposit date when it’s time to make housing and other assignments, so we encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible. We’ll always take the time to thoroughly review your application, and provide a timely response.

Transfer Qualifications:

  • You can submit your unofficial transcripts for your admissions decision. Official transcript(s) from previously attended institutions are required to attend and receive credit for eligible courses.
  • Electronic transcripts may be submitted through various electronic transcript services and can also be sent directly to admissions for review.  Transcripts received from a student are not considered official.
  • Paper transcripts must be mailed by your school(s) to Stephens College: Stephens College Office of Admissions, Campus Box 2121, 1200 E. Broadway, Columbia, MO 65215

Tuition/Fees/Expenses for the 2025-2026 Academic Year

The cost of attendance (COA) refers to the total amount of education expenses (tuition, books and supplies, room and board, personal expenses, transportation expenses, loan fees, etc.). 

Stephens College bills for Direct Costs (Tuition, Fees, Room & Board) at the beginning of each semester.

Nursing BSN and Performing Arts BFA programs are 3 years plus 2 summers.

These expenses are subject to change at the discretion of the Stephens College Board of Trustees. The Financial Aid Office will consider the total cost of attendance, which consists of the above items, when awarding financial aid.

Educational costs of nonresidential students will vary from the above amounts. Please contact the Financial Aid office for the exact cost of attendance.

There may be additional course lab fees and supply fees for some classes. Please refer to the schedule of fees in the Curriculum Catalog when registering for courses.

Financial Aid/Scholarships

Application Deadline:

  • The FAFSA application opens on Oct. 1. Stephens College has a FAFSA priority filing date of Feb. 1.

  • Transfer students may be eligible for scholarships. Visit Scholarships for a complete list and scholarship application. 

Benefits for Veterans, Assistance for the Military Personnel and Spouses:

  • The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs determines the eligibility of educational benefits for veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces. To learn about your eligibility, log in and register to view benefits you qualify for.  The Financial Aid Office will assist you with veteran benefit questions or processing. If you are eligible for Veterans Administration Education Benefits, please email your certificate of eligibility to Financial Aid, School Certifying Official.  If you have questions, call (573) 442-7106, Ext. 4106.
  • Stephens College is proud to be a Yellow Ribbon School.
  • If you are receiving your benefit through the transfer of an entitlement, your spouse/parent must first register in eBenefits transferring the benefit to you. You then need to register with eBenefits. Submit your certificate of eligibility to the financial aid office for review.

Degree requirements at the four-year colleges are subject to change by those institutions. To ensure you have the most accurate information about the program, you must meet with an advisor at the transfer institution.
