LAW 155 Artificial Intelligence and the Law (2-3 Hour)
This course provides a foundation for the study and use of artificial intelligence (AI) and offers hands-on experience in the responsible use of AI tools. Students will explore how AI is utilized in many different industries, including the legal profession, and will discuss the legal and ethical implications of such use. Emphasis will be placed on developing critical thinking skills for prompt engineering and evaluating AI-generated content. Through practical exercises, students will learn how to effectively and appropriately use AI in the workplace and beyond. Students will analyze the legal and ethical implications of AI, including its impact on intellectual property such as copyright and trademark, privacy, employment law, contracts, consumer protection, and tort liability.
